Terms of membership
Last updated 17 October 2026
The short version
- PINKLIST is a directory that helps you find stylists for Afro and textured hair. We don't take bookings or payments for appointments, and we take no commission from stylists.
- You join and pay on pinklist.co.uk through Stripe, our payment provider. Your plan renews automatically until you cancel.
- Your free period costs nothing if you cancel before it ends. You can cancel any time. When you cancel, your plan ends straight away and you won't be charged again. We don't refund the rest of a period you've already paid for, apart from section 5.
- You have 14 days from joining to change your mind. Section 5 explains what you get back.
- If something's wrong with a payment, email us first. We usually reply within 2 working days.
1. Who we are
PINKLIST is run by Pink List Technologies Ltd (company number 17039158, registered in England and Wales), Unit 82a, James Carter Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP28 7DE, United Kingdom ("PINKLIST", "we", "us"). You can contact us at support@pinklist.co.uk.
These terms apply when you join PINKLIST as a member or a professional, and when you use pinklist.co.uk. By ticking the box at checkout you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your information.
You must be 18 or over to join.
2. What PINKLIST is
- A directory of hairstylists, with photos of their work, hairstyles, towns, links to book with them, and reviews from members.
- Stylists are independent businesses. Any appointment, price, deposit or result is between you and the stylist. We aren't a party to it and we don't take payment for it.
- Many listings are put together by us from information the stylist has made public, such as their Instagram, website or booking page. We check listings, but we can't promise every detail (prices, hours, availability) is current. Please confirm with the stylist before you book.
- A "verified" mark on a stylist means we've checked that the listing is run by that stylist. On a review, it means the stylist confirmed the appointment and the member has verified their account. It isn't a guarantee of the stylist's work.
3. Plans and prices
| Plan | Who it's for | Price | Free period |
|---|---|---|---|
| Member Access | People looking for a stylist | £3.49 every 4 weeks | 9 days |
| Professional Access | Stylists | £19.99 a month, plus a one-off £4.99 profile set-up fee taken with your first payment | 45 days |
- Prices include any VAT that applies. The price and free period shown at checkout are the ones that apply to you.
- We take your card details at checkout through Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
- When your free period ends, your first payment is taken automatically, and then again at the start of each period (every 4 weeks, or every month) until you cancel.
- If we change a price, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies to you. You can cancel before then.
- Each person can have one free period per plan. If you've had it before, your plan starts straight away when you join again and your first payment is taken that day. The £4.99 Professional set-up fee is only charged once.
4. Cancelling
- You can cancel any time from Manage my plan on My account, at our Stripe billing page (log in with the email you paid with), or by emailing us.
- If you cancel during your free period, you won't be charged.
- When you cancel, your plan ends straight away. Your access stops on the day you cancel, and you won't be charged again.
- Apart from section 5, we don't refund the unused part of a period you've already paid for. If you'd like to use the time you've paid for, cancel near the end of it.
- Members: when your plan ends, the directory, saved stylists, the map, reviews and likes lock. Your saved stylists are kept in case you come back.
- Professionals: when your plan ends, your listing is hidden from the directory until you join again. Your photos, tags and reviews are kept.
5. Your 14 days to change your mind
You can cancel within 14 days of the day you joined without giving a reason.
- If you cancel within those 14 days and before any payment has been taken, you pay nothing.
- Your free period starts straight away at your request. If a payment has been taken and you cancel within the 14 days, we refund that payment minus a fair amount for the paid days you've already had.
- Professionals: nothing is charged when you join. The one-off £4.99 set-up fee is taken with your first £19.99 payment, after your 45 free days, so if you cancel before then you pay nothing at all.
- To cancel this way, cancel your plan as in section 4 and email us to ask for the refund, or just email us. We refund to the card you paid with within 14 days of hearing from you.
This doesn't affect your other legal rights.
6. If there's a problem with a payment
- Please email us first with the email you paid with. We usually reply within 2 working days, and we'll put right any charge that shouldn't have been taken.
- If a payment fails, we'll let you know so you can update your card from Manage my plan or our Stripe billing page. Stripe tries the payment again for a short while, and your access carries on so you can fix it. If it stays unpaid, your plan is cancelled and ends as in section 4.
- Your bank statement shows the charge as PINKLIST.
- If you dispute a charge with your bank, we may share the records of your sign-up, your agreement to these terms, your use of PINKLIST and any emails with us, with the payment provider, so the dispute can be decided. We may pause the account while the dispute is open.
7. Using PINKLIST
- Your account is for you. Don't share your login, and keep your password private.
- Don't copy the directory in bulk, scrape it, or use it to send stylists spam.
- Be respectful to stylists and other members, on PINKLIST and when you contact stylists through it.
Reviews
- Only review a stylist you've actually had an appointment with, and keep it honest and about your own experience.
- No abuse, discrimination, personal details, or anything you know to be untrue.
- Reviews show your PINKLIST username, not your full name. You let us show your review on PINKLIST for as long as it's published.
- Stylists can confirm an appointment or raise a dispute. We may hold, edit for personal details, or remove a review that breaks these rules. We don't remove reviews because they're negative.
8. For stylists
Listings we've created
We may list your business using information you've made public for your business: your business name, social handles, website or booking links, town, the hairstyles you do, and public photos and videos of your work. For a home or mobile stylist we only show your town, never a home address. You can claim your listing, correct it, or ask us to remove it at any time by emailing us. See the Privacy Policy for more.
Claiming and managing your listing
- When you claim a listing, we check it's yours before handing it over.
- Keep your listing accurate: prices, hours, town and booking links.
- Only upload photos and videos you have the right to use. If a client can be recognised, make sure they're happy for it to be shared. Videos can be up to 90 seconds.
- You keep ownership of what you upload. You let us show it on PINKLIST and in PINKLIST's own social posts promoting your listing, for as long as it's on your listing, and for a short time after for posts already published.
- PINKLIST keeps final say over every listing. We can edit, hide or remove a listing or content that's inaccurate, breaks these terms, or puts members at risk, and we'll tell you why.
- We don't take commission on your bookings.
9. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why, unless the problem is serious (for example fraud, abuse or a safety concern). If we close your account without a good reason, we'll refund any period you've paid for but not had. You can ask us to close your account any time, from My account or by emailing us, and we'll do it promptly.
10. Our responsibility to you
- We'll provide PINKLIST with reasonable care and skill. We may change features as we improve it, and occasionally it may be unavailable for maintenance.
- We aren't responsible for a stylist's work, prices, availability, or anything that happens at an appointment, because that's a contract between you and the stylist.
- We aren't responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, or for business losses.
- Otherwise, our total responsibility to you is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months before the problem.
- Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
11. Changes to these terms
If we make a change that affects you, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then. Small changes, such as fixing wording, apply when we publish them here.
12. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts.
